What does a mortgage broker actually do?

A mortgage broker acts as your personal home loan "guru". We compare loans from a wide range of lenders, including all the major banks and specialist lenders, to find one that best fits your goals. We handle the research, paperwork, and interest rate negotiations so you can focus on the exciting part: finding your perfect property.

Do you charge for your service?

Mortgage Choice brokers are paid by the lender after your home loan settles, not by you, and there is no charge for our service. The lender pays an upfront commission when the loan is settled and a smaller, ongoing "trail" commission for as long as you keep the loan with that lender. In some very limited situations, a broker may charge a fee, but this would be discussed with you in advance.

What lenders do you work with?

We have access to over 40 lenders, including the big four banks and a wide range of non-bank and specialist lenders. That means more choice, more flexibility, and better odds of finding the perfect fit for your financial situation

Can you help with more than just home loans?

Absolutely. We assist with investment loans, refinancing, construction and renovation loans, debt consolidation, and even car and personal loans. If it involves finance — we can help.

How long does the home loan process take?

Every situation is different, but most pre-approvals take around 1–2 weeks once we have your documents. From there, the process to full approval and settlement depends on the lender, but we’ll keep you updated every step of the way.
